This study aims to adapt the “career well-being scale”, consisting of 14 items and three dimensions, developed by Coetzee et al. (2021), into Turkish and to test its validity and reliability. To investigate the validity and reliability of the scale, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, Cronbach’s alpha reliability test, normality test, convergent and discriminant validity analyses, and measurement invariance tests by gender were conducted. The study sample consisted of 415 teachers working in public schools in Adana and Osmaniye provinces. The results of the exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses supported the three-dimensional, 14-item structure of the scale and demonstrated that both convergent and discriminant validity were achieved. Configural, metric, scalar, and strict invariance models were tested to examine measurement invariance across gender groups. The findings indicated that the scale met the criteria for configural, metric, scalar, and strict invariance, establishing full measurement invariance and showing that female and male participants interpreted the scale content similarly. In conclusion, the multidimensional structure of the career well-being scale was confirmed within the Turkish context, and it was found to be a valid and reliable measurement tool with strong psychometric properties. The scale was determined to be a reliable and valid instrument suitable for researchers and practitioners, such as career counselors and human resources professionals. |
